It features the only use of his famous to blues players bass string riff in Part 2 of the tune. SRV used it several times. He vamps it up with a meaty solo. I have never fully believed that that track is really live- oh well, it is effective! The solo has true King-style bending. I've been trying to find the best blues cds out there, and I bought this one because I heard Albert King sing in an old concert movie Wattstax.
Most of the songs sound like the title track itself and I love that. King sings with real emotion and he's one of the greatest blues singers I've heard in a long time.
I rate this album even better than B. King's album "Why I Sing the Blues", which is also an excellent album to listen to. I'm looking forward to buying another Albert King cd album! Nuff said. Albert King is still among the blues greats. I'll play the blues for you and feel like breaking up somebody's home are timeless classics.

Add to his guitar work the soul-funk infusion underlying the Stax backing sound and the result is, really, a different kind of blues, certainly for its day. His voice throughout is warm and casual, even chatty, and his guitar a stinging whip of high, bended notes that speak of all things blues — bad luck and trouble. Skip to content Search for:.
