Verified Purchase. What can one say about this platter? As others have said, the performance is awesome with beautiful guitar work from Albert and a flawless backing band What may not be clear is the amazing clarity and dynamic range of this recording.

This is about the best recorded live album I've ever heard. The CD mastering is beautiful. All the dynamics are preserved with absolutely stunning fidelity. Albert King is always at his best on live albums.

This album is no exception, even thought I prefer the Wednesday and Thursday night album. His guitar playing is simply and to the point. To me is one of the greatest blues Guitar players and he seems to always falls behind, BB KIng and Muddy Waters, He sings but during his live performance, it the playing that really shine.

His playing is deliberate, slow and to the point. If you looking for a master at his craft, check out "Night Stomp" and " Blues at Sunrise". When he does sing, on "Please, love Me" the exchange and back and forth is to the point and right on. The CD is just what I expected. Albert King is one of the greatest blues guitarist of all time. My reason for the poor rating is the condition of ordered CD's when delivered.

I already have the Fillmore live recordings from San Francisco. And this one is just as good if not better. I enjoyed it while stuck in traffic on I Didn't even noticed time passing by. An an absolute treat. At times you can't tell if it's Stevie or The King And in between songs conversations are a jem too.

Just get both albums, you won't regret! One person found this helpful. On time and as described. Albert King was the blues man for me, B. How did the cosmic world give us those three in the same lifetime. We are talking about Albert King here. A Master at what he did. He deserves 10 stars as far as I am concerned. See all reviews. Very good. Love this! Report abuse. Possibly the best Albert King album you can buy. This is not only Albert King's best album, bar none, it is one of the best blues albums ever made! I would give it more stars if there were more to give. You need to hear this on vinyl for the full live feeling 'though.

The CD just doesn't have the same vitality. What other items do customers buy after viewing this item? Pages with related products. See and discover other items: king diamond , blues rock live , chicago music group. Back to top. Get to Know Us.
