Booker T The MGs Green Onions

Booker T The MGs Green Onions

One white person and three black people — one of whom looked white! Nobody realised this until we started performing in public. We had problems with things like segregated eating, but we survived. Years later, in the 70s, I was sitting in a restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard and this dude jumped up and started dancing on the table, plates flying.

Everyone was laughing, then he just took off. To get it right, I still have to practise. When Jim Stewart said he liked what we were doing and wanted to record us, we were dumbfounded. On the original master tape, you can actually hear us laughing at the end. I saw Booker T in Atlanta last year, Booker T is a master at the Hammond B.

The show was total enjoyment. This CD is great driving music. I have to get more. One person found this helpful. Not a bad song on the record! Good quality vinyl. Great trip back to Stax Jazz, rock, soul. Old school yahhhh. Just like it. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. This gives you a different feel to the songs and lets you appreciate the musical talents of these guys. The quality's very good. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I was in a record shop in Stafford in Staffordshire UK in or I heard it, I liked it, and bought it.

It was an EP record and at the time it cost me all of my pocket money save for the bus fare home! I still have it somewhere. So when I saw this record I bought it again, and I'm not sorry I did.

Its in Mono and the quality is very high, and the quality of the recording is very good. Fantastic record, beautiful green vinyl, technically a very good Pressing. Nicely printed album sleeve, and white poly lined inner sleeve to keep the record clean. Great sound quality, and two bonus tracks. Top marks to the Pressing plant. Recommend album. Report abuse. One of many great albums of one of the most underrated bands.
